AquaGO! - An Introduction to Artistic Swimming

Halifax Aqua Nova is pleased to introduce AquaGO!, a nation-wide grassroots foundation program for artistic swimming in Canada and is the launching pad for all other programs delivered by Canada Artistic Swimming. It is an opportunity for children as young as age 5 to have fun, develop aquatic literacy, learn the basics of artistic swimming and develop basic physical and athletic skills in and out of the water.

AquaGO! is a 10 week session.
Tuesdays from 6pm to 7:15pm
Saturdays from 8:45am to 10am

AquaGO! deliverables:
  • Introduce new ways to move in and out of water
  • Develop physical and aquatic literacy
  • For all abilities, skill levels and participants
  • Provide fitness and health benefits for life
  • Develop teamwork skills
  • Ideal for boys and girls age 5 – 9 who are between swimming levels or waiting to meet an age requirement
  • No previous experience needed
Equipment required: bathing cap (provided at first class), one piece bathing suit, goggles, nose clip and a towel for stretching, and a MASK.
In the event of a cancelled class (due to weather, facility closure, etc.), we will make every effort possible to schedule a make-up class.

Below is a sample of the AquaGO lesson plans

AquaGO was designed to build an overall athlete so there are actually many exercises that are done on land before getting into the water. Your child may not be in the pool until 30 minutes into the lesson and your child may also get out of the pool before the lesson is over to continue doing dry-land training.
